Welcome In Laid-Back Autumn Style with Sainsbury's Home

By Natalie Woods - September 22, 2019

If you've followed me for a while now, you will likely know that I have a tendency to opt for interior decor in very muted, natural tones, keeping everything very light and bright in the process. Whilst I love colourful houses full of pattern and texture, I tend not to venture too far away from the neutral shades I know best, largely through fear of wasting money on something that won't 'fit' well in the house.

This year, I'm shaking things up (just a little bit) and welcoming in a cosy Autumn with Sainsbury's Home's new Autumn/Winter range. I've really enjoyed adding both pattern and colour to my interior, whilst still keeping a laid-back feel to it.

Sainsbury's Home has looked to local craft and tradition in the UK and taken inspiration from the majestic Scottish landscape to create their Highland Lodge range featured above. The range embodies rustic winter cosiness and even features recycled glassware. You could easily take the table theme I've created a step further as Christmas nears by adding in Sainsbury's Home's recycled soft mulberry wine glasses and tumblers for some extra warmth.

For the first time, I've introduced blush pink, sage green and copper to my interior colour scheme and I love the result. The colours brings so much more warmth to the house and they sit perfectly with neutral tones. To create this look, I opted for Sainsbury's copper cutlery (£25 for a set of 16), Garden Sage Runner (£12), Sage and Blush napkins (set of two for £8), Sage Seat Cushion (£12). For the dinnerware, I mixed Sainsbury's Lugano dinner plates (£4.50) with the crackle glazed cereal bowl (£3.50), embossed dinner plate (£4.50) and embossed side plates (£3.50).

The embossed pattern on the Highlands Lodge dinnerware range gives it a real luxe feel and adds texture to the table.

In my living room, I've mixed the new Sainsbury's Home Kanso Living range in with whites and greys. The Kanso Living range appealed immediately because it has been designed to embody Japanese simplicity and harmony. I've mixed the Kanso Living Dash Cup (£3.50) with Painterly Print Cushion (£12). The Painterly Print cushion is my favourite piece from the range. It's made from heavy linen and the colours are beautiful. It's as effective as adding in a painting. It brings a bolder look but fits in beautifully with natural wood and galvanised steel textures.

The Sainsbury's Home Scented Dash candle (£3.50) is part of the new Kanso Living range.

The Dash Cup (£3.50) from the new Kanso Living range adds beautiful texture to a 'Hygge' interior scheme.

In the other end of my living room, I've used the Monochrome Crewel cushion (£16) and the Kanso Living textured cushion (£12) as part of my monochrome scheme. I placed them in my cupboard to show how well they sit with a reclaimed, vintage interior.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing something a bit different in my home and the addition of some new colours! I'll definitely be venturing into colour again soon.

Both the Kanso Living and Highlands Lodge ranges are available in Sainsbury's store from this month which should add some fun to grocery shopping!

This feature is part of a paid collaboration with Sainsbury's Home. Both the Kanso living and Highlands Lodge ranges are available now at larger Sainsbury's stores along with selected items online here.
